Salvatore Mannino was born in Catania, Italy, on May 23rd 1987. Graduated in chemistry, he got his studies finished by defending his PhD thesis in Science and Technology of Materials, specializing in carbon fiber composite materials and thermoplastic materials. It’s during his PhD years when he goes through his passion for landscape photography, which was born kind of by chance from a present. The gift was a Nikon reflex, indeed. Very passioned with basketball, he deeply follows the American Pro league, the NBA. These ones are Salvo’s two great passions which he focuses most on, as a way to escape from quotidinity. As for photography, Salvo prefers more the shooting phase with respect to post-processing. This is why he assembled a well completed photographic equipment with several filters for artistic shots, in order to obtain the most on camera. Furthermore, he spends much of his spare time o the study of the photography techniques. Thanks to his scientific mind, he focuses a lot on technical-scientific aspects of digital photography, starting up a blog with different topics, which you may request as well. Recently, he has started studying timelapse photography, a new very stimulating field to him. His first timelapse project around Sicily is still on-going, so stay tuned!
